The FURUNO Group declares in its Global Compliance Policy that compliance with laws and regulations is the top priority in its business activities. Based on this principle, the FURUNO Group hereby establishes this Policy to respect domestic and international anti-bribery and corruption laws and regulations, and to ensure their compliance.
- Prohibited Actions
The FURUNO Group prohibits its directors, officers and employees (the “Employees”) from taking any action that violates the anti-bribery and corruption laws and regulations of any relevant country applicable to the business activities of the FURUNO Group. This includes direct or indirect bribery to domestic and foreign public officials (meaning employees of the government, local public entities, public organizations, or public enterprises, and persons to whom the authority thereof has been delegated). It also includes small facilitation payments (meaning small payments for expediting procedures of normal administrative services), as well as bribery and corruption activities in the private sector.
- Actions and Penalties for Violations
(1) The FURUNO Group shall review any suspected violation of this Policy and immediately take appropriate measures to respond to any violation. Moreover, the FURUNO Group shall respond to investigations by the authorities in good faith.
(2) The FURUNO Group shall rigorously impose strict penalties on any Employee who are found to be in violation of this Policy, based on the rules of their company.
- Compliance System
The president/managing directors of all FURUNO Group companies bear a responsibility to ensure that their Employees abide by this Policy. In addition, the Employees of the FURUNO Group who detect any action that violates or could violate this Policy are required to report such action immediately to their company and the headquarters.
- Applicable Scope
This Policy applies to all Employees of the FURUNO Group. All business partners involved in the FURUNO Groupʼs business activities will be requested to give consideration to and support this Policy.
