3D Bird View System
3D Bird View System uses VR (Virtual Reality) technology to display the information needed for safe ship navigation, providing a spatial vision support (3rd person view) to mariners. In addition to chart information, and using a combination of data from Radar, AIS information, risk of collision areas, etc., it displays a bird's eye view of the area around the ship. The height and angle of the bird's-eye view can be freely adjusted, so that the situation around the ship can be monitored from all angles. This gives an instant visual understanding of the situation around the ship, making it easier to plan routes to avoid collisions with other ships and to provide surveillance support from the shore.
About Products & Solutions Certification
The products & solutions certification is given by ClassNK, a third-party organization certifies the products and solutions using advanced digital technologies. 3D Bird View System is recognized as an advanced technology by ClassNK this time.
We will continue to work on technological innovation and contribute to the society by "achieve better safety, security and comfort to bring about a society and sea navigation that considers the needs of people and the environment".
* 3D Bird View System is developed in the DFFAS (Designing the Future of Full Autonomous Ship) consortium, which participates in the "Joint Technological Development Programme for the Demonstration of Unmanned Ships" under the unmanned ship project "MEGURI2040" conducted by the Nippon Foundation.
