The world's largest meteorological event
Furuno Electric Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture; Yukio Furuno, President) will exhibit at the Meteorological Technology World Expo 2022 (France, Paris) from October 11 to 13. The Meteorological Technology World Expo 2022 is the world’s largest event focused on meteorological technology.

This event gathers the latest technologies and service on weather, hydrometeorological forecasting and analysis. Besides the world's smallest and lightest dual polarimetric compact X-band doppler weather Radar "WR2120" and single polarimetric weather Radar "WR110", we will introduce some observing cases (airports, sewers, highways, urban areas etc.) that show the usefulness of our products, such as reducing the impacts of heavy rains and urban flood.

About the product
Furuno, which maintains the leading market share in marine Radar, presents two X-band Weather Doppler Radars (Models: "WR110" and "WR2120").
"WR110" can be used for standard rainfall observations, and "WR2120" can be used for more advanced observations, such as observing the three-dimensional structure of cumulonimbus clouds that cause torrential rain and their movement and development.
- Simple and quick installation
No heavy machinery needed to transportation or install the Radar. It can easily be installed by a two-person crew. Power requirement is a standard AC power outlet used for domestic appliances (100V/200V). The Radar can be installed practically anywhere without special structures or configurations.
- Multi-Radar system for wide areas and blind area coverage
By increasing the number of Radars, it is possible to cover a wider area.
Also, when installed in the same area the Radars observation data can be combined, further increasing accuracy, providing vector Doppler velocities, and enhanced three-dimensional imaging.
- Used for large Radar supplement
Furuno X-band Radars can supplement, reinforce and fill-in areas that other global surveillance weather Radars cannot reach.
- Compact, lightweight and solid-state
Our Weather Radars utilize solid state technology reducing overall operating and maintenance costs thanks to low power consumption and fewer required replacement parts. Moreover, our solid-state technology provides high precision monitoring of precipitation with a wide range of signal processing and data format capabilities.
