Also sample of "eRideOPUS 6" and "eRideOPUS 7" Multi-GNSS single-chip and modules equipped with eRideOPUS 6 and eRideOPUS 7 are now available.
FURUNO ELECTRIC CO., LTD. is pleased to announce the release of new Multi-GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System *1) Receiver Module with integrated antenna GH-33. This product is suitable for consumer mobile applications such as commercial handy terminal, tablet, digital camera, etc. Samples of the modules for automotive applications, equipped with our Multi-GNSS Receiver Chip eRideOPUS 6 and eRideOPUS 7 are now available.
Our GH-33 GNSS product differs from our current GH- 85 receiver. The GH-33 supports concurrent reception of GPS (U.S. Global Positioning System), SBAS (Satellite Based Augmentation System), QZSS (Japanese Quasi-Zenith Satellite System) and GLONASS (Russian Global Navigation Satellite System).
Since the GH-33 module is designed for consumer products such as mobile devices, it is required to be small and have low power consumption. Considering these requirements, we have adopted the Multi-GNSS Receiver Chip MT3333 from MTK (MediaTek, a major semiconductor company in Taiwan) for this product.
As a result, the power consumption has been reduced by 30% during the acquisition of satellites compared to other similar products.
Also FURUNO is preparing for mass production of the new Multi-GNSS Receiver Chips eRideOPUS 6 and eRideOPUS 7. These new receiver chips will be available for integration into automotive navigation systems, Telematics and eCall * 2) systems, which requires both position stability and position accuracy. FURUNO is planning mass production of the new Multi-GNSS Receiver Chips eRideOPUS 6 and eRideOPUS 7 and the new compact GNSS Receiver Modules GN-86F & GN-87F equipped with eRideOPUS 6 and eRideOPUS 7 in August 2013 as well as the dead-reckoning-capable GNSS Receiver Modules GV-86 & GV-87.
FURUNO will supply a wide range of Multi-GNSS Receiver Chips and Modules to satisfy all customer applications. FURUNO is a major supplier of Multi-GNSS Receiver Chips. The new compact GNSS Receiver Modules and Chips with high position accuracy and high reliability are suitable for all automotive applications. The new GH-33 is specifically designed for consumer and other mobile applications.
