2018-12-18

FURUNO ELECTRIC CO., LTD. (headquartered in Nishinomiya, Japan, President : Mr. Yukio Furuno) will be exhibiting at the 99th American Meteorological Society annual meeting from January 6th to 10th in Phoenix, Arizona (USA) and will be introducing 2 Weather Radars including a new Radar model.

The AMS annual meeting is an international event held annually in the United States promoting the latest technologies and progress in the field of meteorology, water and climate. Thousands of people attend the show each year, including meteorologists, engineers and researchers to debate and advance new technologies and solutions.

FURUNO will be displaying its Compact X-Band Weather Radar, WR110, introduced last year, along with the brand-new Dual Polarimetric Doppler Weather Radar, WR2120, successor of the WR-2100.

About the Compact X-Band Dual Polarized Doppler Weather Radar "Model: WR2120"

This Weather Radar, using dual polarization technology, can measure the rainfall more accurately than Radars using single polarization and can predict with greater certainty the type of observed particle such as rain, snow or hail by analyzing their shape and structure.
Compared to its predecessor, the model WR-2100, the internal structure of the radar has been miniaturized in order to enable dual polarization performance into a radome of the size and shape of the WR110 model. Offering greater resistance to vibrations and status monitoring, the WR2120 is perfect for both weather observation and research.
