We have recently confirmed the existence of a software vulnerability in our FA-50 CLASS B AIS TRANSPONDER.
Production of this product was discontinued in October 2020, and no software updates have been released since then. We kindly ask that you consider either upgrading to the successor model (FA-70) or implementing the mitigation measures listed below.

Nature of the Vulnerability
An attacker with access to the vessel’s internal network may manipulate the product’s settings screen via the network and tamper with its identification number and other information.
Mitigation Measures for the Vulnerability
Production of this product ended in October 2020, and software updates will no longer be provided.
We kindly ask that you consider upgrading to the successor model (FA-70).
If upgrading to the successor model is not feasible, we kindly ask that you consider implementing the mitigation measures listed below.
- To prevent unauthorized access, the vessel on which the product is installed should be properly locked and managed
- Do not connect the product directly to the internet
